Description

This book group is for faculty and staff interested in learning about the emerging trend of contemplative pedagogy in higher education. Participants will consider and reflect on methods for integrating contemplative pedagogy and inquiry in their personal and professional lives. Each will receive a copy of the book Contemplative Practices in Higher Education: Powerful Methods to Transform Teaching and Learning (2013) by Dan Barbezat & Mirabai Bush. Co-author Barbezat will meet with the book group during the second of the four meetings.

Objectives

  • Join an emerging community of practice interested in developing methods for integrating contemplative pedagogy and inquiry in their work and life.
  • Discover and discuss how contemplative pedagogies are being used to transform teaching and learning.
  • Meet with the author of Contemplative Practices in Higher Education: Powerful Methods to Transform Teaching and Learning (2013).
