Course Description

Facilitators: Tim Burwell, Academic Affairs; David Larry, University Attorney’s Office; Angie Miller, Human Resource Services

The University of North Carolina Phased Retirement Program provides full-time tenured faculty with an opportunity to make a transition to retirement through half-time service. Presenters will provide information regarding:
• Purposes, policies and procedures
• Terms and conditions
• Eligibility and approval
• Costs and benefits

Faculty should come prepared with questions, and we’ll help provide the answers!

Faculty who are planning for retirement, especially those who are considering retiring in the next five years, are strongly encouraged to attend. The deadline for submitting applications to enter the program in the 2010-2011 academic year is January 15, 2010.
