Facilitators: Paulette Marty, Theatre and Dance; Joan Woodworth, Psychology; Liz Rose, Music; and Tom McLaughlin, English

General Education’s Goal #1 is to increase student competency in thinking critically and creatively. Creative thinking includes skills in problem solving, abilities to generate innovative perspectives, and the flexibility of mind to construct new knowledge. This workshop will provide faculty with sample assignments and strategies for implementing and evaluating creative thinking across the disciplines.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Define creative thinking in relation to course activities and discussions.
  • Design assignments that will assist students with integrating creative thinking skills.
  • Develop criteria for measuring student attitudes and behaviors in creative thinking.
