Description

The Graduate Enrollment Summit is being hosted by Graduate Admissions and the Office of Admissions to focus on issues, tools, and strategies related to graduate student enrollments. This workshop is intended for ALL graduate program directors and their department chairs, along with associate deans from each college. The event will feature remarks from Provost Heather Norris, Interim Dean Marie Hoepfl, Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management Cindy Barr, and representatives from University Communications, the Office of Financial Aid, and Institutional Research, among others. Attendees will also hear from a panel of students regarding their decisions to attend Appalachian. The event will close with focused discussions among program directors and table moderators regarding a variety of marketing, recruitment, and retention issues. Breakfast will be included.

Objectives

  • better understand the importance of marketing and recruitment of graduate students, and ways to more effectively promote their graduate program(s).
  • learn about tools and strategies for tracking program enrollments, and the need for setting enrollment targets.

Prerequisites

  • Graduate Program Director (or designee, if the director is unable to attend)
  • Chairperson in a department with a graduate program(s)
