Description
This workshop will provide information about the regulations that govern the requirements for informed consent of human subjects in research in the United States. Facilitator will discuss the regulatory requirements for consent; address common challenges in obtaining consent; provide examples, successes, and pitfalls; and demonstrate how the online IRB system rolling out in the fall can facilitate building a consent document.
Objectives
- 1.Identify methods and wording that obtains truly informed consent from research participants.
- 2.Comfortably build a consent form that meets regulatory requirements.
- 3.Avoid language or pitfalls that may impede informed consent.
