Description

This workshop is designed to help faculty better navigate the logistical aspects of education abroad program. Participants will receive a brief overview of the proposal process, hints for writing successful program proposals, and learn what the Education Abroad Committee looks for in a proposal. The bulk of the workshop will focus on planning program details such as finding housing, in-country transportation, meals, and programming tours and museum visits. Faculty Participants will learn about working with in-country partners, travel agents, third-party education abroad providers, etc. Previous program leaders will be on hand to share their experiences. Objectives

  • 1. Describe university policies and procedures related to developing and managing faculty led study abroad programs.
  • 2. Answer commonly asked questions on logistical issues that often arise from faculty-led study abroad programs.
  • 3. Apply best practices learned from fellow faculty in avoiding major pitfalls when leading student groups abroad.
