Description

AppState's Organizational Development staff is seeking committed individuals who are interested in forming a learning collaborative(s).

What is a learning collaborative? -Collaborative learning is based on the idea that knowledge is a social construct. -The learner is the focus of the educational experience. -Interactive and experiential learning techniques are incorporated throughout the process. -Learning occurs in peer groups and the facilitator serves as a consultant.

The goal of a learning collaborative is to help learners develop solutions to real-world problems and apply them to the problems they face in day to day work. Peers work in groups with the help of a facilitator to structure the most effective learning experience.

This interest meeting is open to any staff or faculty member who is interested in learning more about this concept. For more information, please contact Emily Wilson, wilsones1@appstate.edu.
