This workshop provides an overview of best practices in facilitating rich and engaging online communication in AsULearn.
Participants will learn about the various types of discussion forums within the AsULearn course management system. In this hands-on workshop, we'll provide examples of how to enhance group knowledge construction and critical thinking in online discussions.
Objectives
- Review the Edit Profile options for Subscriptions, Forums, and Email
- Discuss options for managing email in an online or hybrid course
- Add the five Discussion Forum types and discuss their purposes
- Explore settings options for Forums
- Explore the ratings (scales) system for Forums
- Explore the Chat tool and discuss best practices for its use
