Course Description
Facilitators: Jeff Goodman, Curriculum and Instruction; Richard Klima, Mathematical Sciences; Joan Woodworth, Psychology; and Tom McLaughlin, English
Inquiry, integration, and active learning are three powerful methods that have been demonstrated to facilitate higher order learning. In the first part of this event, four of Appalachian's teaching award recipients will share their best practice around these methodologies. In the second part, participants will engage in rich conversation about these methodologies in facilitated round table discussions. The final part will comprise a resource fair with over 55 campus units showcasing how they support faculty.
Faculty who are interested in expanding their repertoire of teaching and learning tools, those who wish to effectively engage their students, those who are teaching in the General Education Program, and those who wish to learn more about support services on campus are strongly encouraged to attend.
