Description
This is make-up training & fit-testing for respirator-wearing employees who were unable to be fit-tested during the annual event on April 16- 20, 2012.
IMPORTANT:
- YOU MUST BE CLEAN-SHAVEN at all spots where respirator contacts face.
- DO NOT EAT, DRINK, SMOKE, or CHEW gum or tobacco for 30 minutes before arrival.
- BRING YOUR RESPIRATOR if you have one.
- Please notify instructor in advance if you are allergic to latex, or if you have physical limitations that would make climbing stairs difficult.
Non-employees may participate if space is available. Contact instructor to register.
Objectives
- At the end of this session, attendees will:
- Meet OSHA's annual requirements for respirator training and fit-testing.
- Know how to properly don, doff, wear, and care for their respirator.
- Know the basic differences between different kinds of respirators and filters.
- Be able to perform a user seal check.
- Recognize proper fit and seal of their respirator.
Prerequisites
- You are REQUIRED to use ANY kind of respirator on the job, OR you voluntarily choose to wear any kind of respirator on the job other than a filtering facepiece (dust mask); AND
- Medical evaluation completed and physician's approval form on file with EHS&EM Office.
- If you already have a respirator, bring it.
