This workshop reviews the information provided in the "Initial" Bloodborne Pathogens workshop.
Attendees who successfully complete this course will meet the requirements of:
- N.C. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (NCOSHA) Bloodborne Pathogen Standard
- ASU Exposure Control Plan
Objectives
- List the diseases carried by blood and other potentially infectious materials.
- Recognize symptoms of these diseases.
- Know the major occupational risk factors for contracting a bloodborne disease.
- Describe modes of transmission in the workplace.
- Know where, when, and how to obtain optional Hepatitis B vaccination.
- Review mitigation strategies that can reduce/limit exposures to bloodborne pathogens in the workplace.
- Describe actions to take if exposed to bloodborne pathogens.
Prerequisites
- Bloodborne Pathogens Initial Training workshop within the past year.
