Description
On August 14, 2020, the Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights implemented the new Title IX Regulations which required institutions such as Appalachian State University to make changes to how we respond to allegations of Sex-Based Misconduct (Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Dating / Domestic Violence, Stalking, Gender-Based Discrimination / Harassment). The Office of Title IX Compliance (OTC) worked in collaboration with several campus partners to develop a new policy and procedure to address the changes in the Title IX Regulations.
This workshop will not only explain the changes and updates to Appalachian's new Sex-Based Misconduct Policy and Procedures, but it will also help participants understand what the changes mean for our campus, both employees and students. Presenters will cultivate a safe learning environment conducive to discussing difficult topics, utilizing case studies, and breakout room discussions.
