Description
Over the past 10-15 years, many scientific disciplines have been reflecting on their practice of science, including issues like transparency in research. As a result, the Open Science Movement was born in an effort to promote replication and transparency in research across disciplines. This workshop will provide an overview of the foundations of open science and the importance behind its practice.
Objectives
- Understand what led to the replication crisis
- Understand how Open Science combats these issues
- Be familiar with the Open Science Framework, which is a resource available to all scientists to make their research data and materials accessible to the scientific community
