Description

This workshop will discuss the connection of the Eastern Religions Taoism and Buddhism to the martial arts, in an interactive class. While martial arts are secular, they have been impacted by various Eastern religions.

Participants will experience physical mindfulness vis-a-vis using the martial arts as the vehicle to drive this training.

Objectives

  • Describe the basic techniques of physical mindfulness or relaxation exercises.
  • Outline tools and strategies to deal with daily stressors and conflicts through relaxation.
  • Understand the basic principles of Zen meditation and breathing.
