Description
The chill has set in, and you've been meaning to learn Zoom, App's web conferencing platform, so you can keep meeting with students and colleagues online when the snow arrives. Take this quick Zoom starter session as part of your spring semester planning - you’ll be surprised at how easy it is and how connected you’ll feel to the folks you meet with, even in an online setting. You can do almost anything in Zoom that you can in person, including have students work on documents in breakout groups, record meetings for those who can’t make it, and conference with students privately. Everyone with an AppState Gmail already has a Zoom account, so it’s the perfect solution for our weathery world. What are you waiting for?
The workshop will be held in a Zoom session. The session link will be emailed to registrants a few days prior to the workshop.
Objectives
- Schedule class and non-class meetings in Zoom
- Share your desktop, whiteboard, files, websites and even videos during meetings, as in a classroom
- Create breakout rooms for team work you can travel through as students work
- Conference with students privately
- Invite non-AppState guest speakers to Zoom
- Easily troubleshoot any technology issues
- Record and share sessions with those who can’t attend
