Join Jeff and Greg to explore the latest options in creating/managing instructional media content here at Appalachian. In this 3-part series of workshops, we'll be exploring and demonstrating the following:
Part I: Creating Media Part II: Managing Media with YouTube and Google Drive Part III: Managing Media with Panopto
This is Part I of the series, where we'll explore the most common ways to create instructional media, including desktop capture solutions (think video tutorials) and shooting with personal devices. We'll also cover basic closed captioning options, and discuss relevant copyright issues. We want this to be a fun and informative hour, at the end of which you'll be more aware of currently available tools for adding video content to your courses.
Objectives
- Create desktop capture video (Screencast-o-matic, Camtasia, Zoom, Panopto)
- Create 'live' video with personal devices
- Copying existing video
- Copyright issues
