Description

Rubrics specify the criteria we use to assess student products and/or behaviors. Beneficial to both faculty and student, rubrics allow assignments to be examined via a set of evaluative criteria presented in a matrix format. Rubrics can be used for all sorts of assignments and activities - even evaluating chocolate chip cookies. Join us to find out how - and to enjoy a cookie!

Objectives

  • Participants will articulate the reasons for creating a rubric.
  • Participants will discuss the VALUE rubrics and utilize them as a resource for creating rubrics for their own program goals.
  • Participants will describe the steps in creating a rubric.
  • Participants will create a rubric for chocolate chip cookies!
