Description
Social learning and group work are effective strategies in the college classroom, but this workshop is dedicated to the needs of students who thrive in quieter, more reflective learning environments. Join this one-hour workshop to explore active learning strategies that are innovative and engaging, while still supporting our introverts. In this session we will discuss the unique strengths and needs of introverted students, explore active learning techniques that allow for more subdued engagement, and swap practical tips for creating an inclusive environment.
Objectives
- Differentiate between social and active learning.
- Evaluate active learning strategies that support more introverted social styles.
- Design one inclusive classroom activity that engages introverted students without requiring extroverted social interaction.
