Description

Excellence in teaching is one of App State’s core values. Requirements of annual review, reappointment, promotion, and tenure include peer observations as one measure of effective teaching practices. Additionally, peer observation is frequently used in a formative setting aimed at professional growth. Peer observation can have numerous benefits, for both the observer and observee; however, inaccurate, inequitable, and unhelpful reports often result when peer observers are inadequately prepared for the task (Tugman et al, 2025). This AppLC aims to address these circumstances.
