Description
In this session, we'll discuss the nuts and bolts of an ungrading approach to feedback and assessment in our courses. The session facilitator will have resources to share, but she'll also be prepared to dive into group-based problem-solving around common issues in an ungrading classroom, should those inquiries arise.
Depending on the interests of the group, we might discuss any or all of the following:
- assignment examples
- scaffolding students to effectively self-assess
- blending ungrading with other nontraditional approaches to assessment
- developing student buy-in
- explaining/defending ungrading to colleagues
- managing "late" work in a class with no grades
*Please note that this session is intended for instructors with experience in or understanding of ungrading. If you are brand-new to the concept, we recommend you first attend "Ungrading for Beginners," as this session will NOT cover the definitional and philosophical components of ungrading.
