This is a discussion to help prepare those who have volunteered to lead discussions about the 2017-18 Common Reading book "One Amazing Thing" by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni with new first-year students during Welcome Weekend (Sat, Aug. 19).
Facilitator: Dr. Martha McCaughey, Faculty Coordinator for First Year Seminar
Objectives
- Discuss themes of the common reading book.
- Plan a meaningful one-hour session about the book.
- Make connections between the book’s themes and one or more issues or ideas students will encounter in college.
