Description
Rebecca Pope Ruarck’s Agile Faculty suggests ways in which scholars can incorporate Agile practices into their research, service, and/or teaching. As the academic landscape changes, alternative ways of conceiving of work load can help mid-career faculty manage their time and “foster productivity, balance, and personal and professional growth. . . Agile work strategies are a staple of the software development world, developed out of the need to be flexible and responsive to fast-paced change.” This book group will focus on salient sections of Ruarck’s book for discussion over three, one-hour sessions and consider the ways in which her strategies could be useful for mid-career faculty.
The book club will meet from 2:00-3:00 on the following dates:
Tuesday, October 16th Tuesday, October 23rd Tuesday, October 30th
Facilitator: Reeves Shulstad, Hayes School of Music
