Description
This workshop is designed to help faculty better navigate the logistical aspects of education abroad program. Participants will receive a brief overview of the proposal process, hints for writing successful program proposals, and learn what the Education Abroad Committee looks for in a proposal.
The bulk of the workshop will focus on planning program details such as finding housing, in-country transportation, meals, and programming tours and museum visits. Faculty participants will learn about working with in-country partners, travel agents, third-party education abroad providers, etc. Previous program leaders will be on hand to share their experiences.
There are no prerequisites, but attendees should read the Program Leader Handbook, which can be found through the "more information URL" and on the OIED website.
The August 31st workshop will be held as a "brown bag lunch" session. Participants are welcome to bring their own lunch for a great discussion in leading a study abroad program. Drinks will be provided.
