Description
International students face a myriad challenges and obstacles as they navigate academic and personal life in the U.S. Many of the challenges that impact their performance and participation in your classroom are obvious while others are hidden deep below the surface waiting to emerge.
In this session participants will explore the challenges international students face and the underlying factors that cause many of these hurdles for effective and transformative learning. Participants will also develop skills and practical strategies to interact with and help international students be successful in and out of the classroom.

Objectives
- Identify common challenges and obstacles international students face in a U.S. classroom.
- Expand ability to empathize with international students and the difficulties they face.
