Description
This session will offer an opportunity for instructors to discuss how they have used group work across course modalities and the challenges and benefits they have experienced in incorporating cooperative learning groups. Key considerations when developing both successful teams and effective projects/assignments will be shared. The session will end with an opportunity to brainstorm ways cooperative learning can be incorporated into participants' online courses.
Objectives
- Describe the benefits of group work across f2f, hybrid, synchronous, and asynchronous modalities
- Develop effective grouping parameters for various learning objectives
- Design (a)synchronous group work that meets learning objectives and meaningfully integrates each learner
