Description
Local Issue Coffee Hours are an opportunity for faculty and nonprofit community partners to come together in a relaxed environment to consider future collaborations. Topics are typically focused on a single issue such as affordable housing, environmental service, nutrition needs among area youth, etc. The agenda is light and the mood is informal but the hope is that, as smart people gather in the same room, they'll form new ideas and productive partnerships. Faculty can find ways to connect their students to local needs via service-learning and nonprofit leaders can offer themselves as a resource to faculty. A light breakfast is served.
This Local Issues Coffee Hour will bring together faculty and nonprofit leaders interested in the needs of elderly residents of the High Country.
