Description

App State has two new labyrinths on our campus near Sanford Mall and Levine Hall. A labyrinth is an ancient, meditative, circular path utilized by diverse groups for centuries. A labyrinth is not a maze but a single path leading to the center and back out.

Are you interested in leading a small group in a labyrinth walk? This workshop will provide some background information about how to facilitate labyrinth walks. If possible, attendees should have prior experience walking a labyrinth.

We will start out in a classroom and then walk to the labyrinth at the end. We’ll meet rain or shine.

Objectives

  • Teach others about labyrinths and share the history of labyrinths on our campus
  • Identify and apply the key components of facilitating labyrinth walks
  • Create customized labyrinth walks and reflective experiences for small groups

Prerequisites

  • This workshop is open to all App State employees. Registrants should have prior experience walking a labyrinth, either alone or as part of a guided labyrinth walk (also available as a workshop).
